An Anonymous Friend

It was a cool winter morning. Wilfred woke up from his bed and drew the curtains off. He could barely see outside as the fog had been surrounding his building. This meant that his school was shut today. He was very glad to hear the news and had made a plan what would he do today.  He freshened up and ate his breakfast and then he went to his room to play on his tab.

After half an hour, his mother rushed into the room and started to yell and shout at him. His mother told him to go and play outside in the snow. He was thinking where would a kid go and play in winter. So, he went to the park with his cycle and stopped when he saw someone crying in the garden. He got off his cycle and approached him and asked “Why are you crying and what’s your name?” He replied that he hadn’t have any friend and his name was Harman. Wilfred told him that he would be his friend and spend some time with him.

They both started negotiations about which game should they start with. After 15 minutes of negotiations they finally decide to play hide and seek. Then they played dumb charades and also asked about each other’s information. After 2 hours of play both Wilfred and Harman felt hungry. As Wilfred had 20 rupees, they both bought each other a packet of chips. Then Wilfred took Harman for a ride on his cycle. They did not go so far but they had been only riding down their colony. Harman took Wilfred to his house and gave an introduction to his parents. They both watched television and played indoor games like Ludo and carrom.

It was evening and the sun had set. Wilfred had to go back home. They both waved a bye to each other and promised to meet once again. Wilfred returned to home and told his mom all about the events. He ate dinner and he slept peacefully on his mother’s lap.
