Conservation of water
Water

Water is vital in our day to day life. It is such a basic need that we all – humans, animals and plants need water and survive on it.  Water is used in everyday life for washing clothes, cooking, bathing, drinking and factories etc. But do we have sufficient water for all these requirements? The answer to this question is No. This is because while using water we also waste it in many ways in our everyday activities. We should remember water is a limited natural resource. We should try to conserve it as much as possible. We have huge amounts of water but half of the Earth’s water is not potable. Concrete roads, urbanization lead to water loss in cities. Hence, we must conserve it and change the thoughts of water use.

Water Wastage:
We all waste water does not matter whoever it maybe for that reason. We all pollute water by washing clothes, bathing of animals, factory wastage in the river. Flushing of toilets multiple times, use of showers in bath, washing machines waste a lot of water in the sewage. If we go on wasting water like this, water will become lesser and lesser. Many cities in the world would be running out of water taking. Chennai in India and Cape town in South Africa are such examples. We must think to save water and start to avoid water wastage and conserve it to maintain the eco-system.

Conservation of Water
Some steps to conserve water are:
1.         Maintain water life cycle. While taking water from the Earth we should also provide abundant quantity to it so that earth doesn’t dry.
2.         We can use Rain Water Harvesting which can help in collecting more than 20,000 liters in an hour of rain.
3.         Do not flush the toilet many times during day because you are wasting gallons of water.
4.         Use compost toilets.
5.         Check for faucets and leakage in pipes.
6.         Use bucket for bathing instead of shower to avoid wastage.
7.          “Grey water” which is collected from house sinks, bathtubs, laundry machines etc., can be used to water plants after recycling.
If we all follow these steps, we can save water for today, tomorrow and forever.

Conclusion
Hence, Water conservation is the need of hour which means that water is to be conserved by us so it remains there for us. Water conserved today will be provided for the next generations. If there is no water, there is no life. Earth will become like the other planets in our solar system where life is not possible.
