The Electrolock!

Chapter 1: The First Fate

It was a windy night and the street lights were flickering and were at the stage to fuse, James Andrew a.k.a. Andy was feeling scared in his room with the colossal Electrolock hanging on his wall! Now, what was Electrolock? It was besetting Andy! His friend Fredrick sitting beside him thinking about the clock.

                “What is so suspicious about the clock? That you’re such scared!”, asked Fredrick.

                “It is not a clock, I will tell you what is the mystery of this clock and tell you how it came into our house.”, replied Andy.

He starts the story. He tells “I and my parents were shifting from San Francisco to New York, and all the things were set up in the new bungalow. But what was remaining was a beautiful clock for my room as all other rooms were already equipped with a clock. The next morning, I and dad went to a colossal clock store; we entered and were welcomed. We went to the main area and the horologist was sitting relaxed on his chair. We asked him to show us a beautiful clock!

“Which type of clock do you want, sir?”, asked the horologer.

“We want an amber-plated clock with a large dial and a bobbing pendulum”, said Dad.

“My Pleasure, Sir, I shall get you ---  proceeding towards the area where clocks were kept --- Aaann, one second!”, said the horologer searching for the clock.

It seemed that the horologer was blandishing us to buy the clocks! He got one and showed us, we loved it, and dad was really convinced to purchase the clock! We came back home and hung it in my room! I loved it too but fate took a turn the next day and scary things started happening in our house!”

So, Fredrick understood, something about it was very suspicious and the news of the clock from our home had spread pervasively! There was a blood-boiling fear of the clock! Now, it was time for Fredrick to leave Andy and go to his home. Andy was very scared so he did not sleep in his room and slept with his mother in the next room. Andy thinking about what the clock would do, would it kill all of us? Would it show up something or would it take our home from Earth to a different place! Thinking of all of this, Andy felt scared and hid his face in the blanket and did not know when he slept.

It was morning, and the house seemed a bit empty! Andy’s dad called up a house meeting and negotiated as to what to do about the clock.

        “Any queries?”, asked dad.

And everybody shouted in unison!

               “I am not able to cook food in the kitchen as it is next door to Andy’s room!”, said Andy’s Mom.

               “I am not able to play in Andy’s room and beset him!”, said Andy’s big brother.

And the one who was really scared couldn’t utter a word! Dad yelled “Stop it! I will listen to everyone, take their suggestions, and understand the problems faced.” Now, everyone told out their problems and it seemed a hard-to-be-solved issue. There were a hundred problems with Andy’s big brother, John as he could not beset him, snatch things and make him mourn! So, dad took his bag and penetrated his hand into it searching for his MacBook Pro to note down all the points. But it was not there!!! Everyone thinking about where it could have been and

               “Where did my MacBook Pro go?”, weeping dad!

They all started rummaging through the entire house but could not find it anywhere. The most hilarious thing was that not only was Dad’s MacBook Pro stolen but also some electronic items had vanished including a TV, Mom’s iPhone 11, Andy’s and John’s iPads, etc.! and these all were devices with a display. Now, not only was dad in a state of fury but also the other members! They all proceeded to the police station and became querulous, shouting out all their complaints at the police officer. The police officer noted down and took care that nothing would be stolen from their house. It was night again and everybody slept in a single room with all doors and windows closed. They slept taking God’s name.

 

Chapter 2: The Suction!

It was a new morning and the house seemed to be emptier with more display devices vanishing. Dad thinks why is the thief only stealing all display devices and mom is happy as her jewelry was not yet stolen. Now, it was a response time for Dad.

        “No need to be scared, now I will take care! I will not sleep tonight and keep a watch on the house!”, declared Dad.

There was relief on everyone’s faces and said that now they can sleep peacefully but not Dad! It was night again and dad was setting up his bed mattress on the floor, some water bottles, some marbles, and Andy’s fake toy gun. Mom asked why all of these marbles, and guns are needed?

               “This is for an attack on the thief and defense against the thief!”, claimed Dad confidently, as if he would catch hold of the thief!

Andy thought Dad would be the first one to run if there is a real gun in the robber’s hand or if he comes into a gang because display devices such as TV, and all mobile phones were stolen; so, it was sure that the robber comes into a gang. Dad confidently sat on his mattress and Andy imagined all the antagonistic things happening with Dad and a huge smile on his face which hid the laughter. It was 12 midnight and everybody slept in one room peacefully without thinking about what would happen to dad! Dad in the living room was waiting for the robber to enter the house but that night nobody was there to raid and empty our house.

Dad waited for the robber the entire night sleeping rather than doing that! All members of the house came and started yelling at Dad!

               “I waited till 3 a.m. but the robber did not come, so I slept!”, answered Dad hastily.

               “Then, how did some more items get vanished?”, questioned Mom angrily.

              

               “Where is my iPad Dad?!”, said John accusing Dad of all the mistakes!

But Andy was quiet and scared, thinking about how all of this could happen? He thought, “When Dad was awake no one came but no sooner did Dad sleep than the robber broke into our house and stole more display devices!”

               “Wait! One second!! I want to tell you something!”, said Andy. What was Andy up to?

 

Chapter 3: The CCTV Trap!

Everyone turned back and asked, “What do you want to tell Andy?” He gave an outstanding idea. He said, “ We can install CCTV Cameras Dad!” Dad thinks that this could be done! He thanked Andy for the idea and by afternoon the CCTV Cameras were installed. Now, everyone was in a relieve, but John exclaimed sadly,  

“The robber would still come right! So, it is better if we keep all the display devices that we are left with!”

This was the first time John had given an idea! Andy exclaims “ Oh, John I am shocked that you gave an idea!” and further said, “I can never think that a glutton would even give an idea!”. Andy gave very a wide smile which hid the sniggering. John infuriated by the words said by Andy, chased Andy and jumped on him while running, and made him fall near the double bed! As he fell down and lifted his head, he was in a state of aghast! He could not utter a word! His heart filled with great terror.

               “What happened my dear, Andy?!”, asked Mom.

        There was still no response. After repeating several times, he came out of his aghast and answered “Mom, just look what is under the bed!”

Mom bends down on her knees and when she stands back, she has the same grimace as Andy, then John bends down and the same grimace, at last Dad bends down, but he is stuck between the midst of happiness and aghast! He is happy, he found all the display devices under the bed, he is shocked, how did it come here! Everyone understood, that this all cannot be done by a robber!
               “Why would a robber – put back all the items after he has stolen them!”, exclaimed Dad.

               “The robber would not have liked the display devices! Simple Dad!”, exclaimed John.

Andy’s sniggering grew more and he was not able to control it, and laid flat on the floor, started guffawing, and bobbing his legs with too much laughter! John could not bear it, but said “I will see you afterward, you Jamandy!” Now everybody was waiting for night to approach so that they could find out who the real culprit was! After 5 hours, it was evening and after more than 2 hours, it was night. Dad, switched on the CCTV Cameras and everyone slept in one room, but with no display devices with them. Otherwise, how would they get to know who is the criminal! John scared Andy, that it would be some monster or alien and would kill the youngest member of the family. Andy, feeling scared with the blood-boiling fear in his mind, he hugged his Mom and slept. Dad, still awake, now had become solemn and serious, thinking what could it be, but not being able to know what it was, he slept waiting for morning to arrive.

 

Chapter 4: The Truth Revelation!

        It was morning, and everybody rushed to the living room. They without noticing what was stolen or more pretentiously vanished, ran to Dad’s friend’s house as he had connected CCTV Cameras to his laptop as there were chances of that laptop being stolen! Dad asked his friend to switch on the laptop and show all of the CCTV Footage. After seeing the footage, no man could believe what the footage showed. It was something that can never happen. It seemed like magic. It was a miracle! No man could refuse magic after seeing the footage. It was something that could not be narrated or described in words! It was unbelievable! Everyone came to the house, all trying to fit on one sofa. They all were in midst of depression and aghast. Sitting till afternoon, someone on the door made them move or they would have been paralyzed! Andy opened the door, it was his friend, Fredrick. Andy after opening the door, came back and sat on the sofa.

               “What happened! Could anyone answer me!”, exclaimed Fredrick.

Nobody dared to answer and take the name of the thing that had done the chaos! Andy answered, “The thing behind all this is --- The clock hanging in my room ----- The Electrolock!”

               “W-w-what!! H-h-how!”, exclaimed Fredrick ghastly.

But after a moment, the real purpose of the Electrolock was realized by Dad! He jumped with excitement.

               “The clock was trying to save us from all electronics that can harm us pretentiously --- EYES!!”, said Dad.

Everyone realized the extremely kind side of the clock. But was it a living thing? This question arises in Fredrick’s mind and said “We have to go to the horologer right now!! And ask him why this all happened?” They took Fredrick’s suggestion and went to the colossal Clock Store with the laptop to show the proof. They rushed to the main area and saw the horologer relaxing on his chair.

“Sir, we had taken a clock from your store, an amber plated, large dialed and with a bobbing pendulum. The scenario is that the day we took the clock, untoward losses started occurring in the house. All electronics with display had vanished! It happened for almost 3 days! We installed CCTV Cameras to know the truth, and we see that ----- a hole exaggerates from the clock and it is too big to suck the sofa!! And through the gargantuan hole, all electronics with the display were sucked! Now, I have the proof also, please allow me to show it to you!”, explained Dad

 

“Yes, Sir, you are permitted!”, replied the horologer.

Dad showed the footage and the horologer asked them to bring the clock. Dad went home while others remained at the store. He came back in 10 minutes and gave the clock to the horologer. The horologer opened up the clock and was terrified to see the strongest permanent magnet in the world, Neodymium magnets, with an incredible Grade N42 Magnetic Energy, stronger than N40, N38, N35, and a whopping 10x Stronger than the strongest ceramic magnet!!! It was the size 30 cm X 20 cm!! That’s why the clock was that hefty! The horologer told them, that sorry for the inconvenience! But Dad, thinking where did the electronics after suction! This was still a mystery!! They went back home and tried to find it!
